LIFE announce fourth album ‘ABSTRACT / NATURAL’
They’ve also shared its blueprint-forming lead single, ‘The Dollywaggon’.

Alternative Hull quartet LIFE are back with the news that their next LP, ‘ABSTRACT / NATURAL’, will be hitting shelves on 19th June via Launchpad+, in partnership with EMI North.
It’ll act as a follow up to their 2022 third effort ‘North East Coastal Town’, and promises to be a striking reintroduction centred around themes of fatherhood, love, and acceptance of change. Much of the record - including lead single ‘The Dollywaggon’ - was inspired by the rugged landscape of the North of England, after frontman Mez Sanders-Green traversed the 193 mile route from the West Coast to his native East, via the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
“‘The Dollywaggon”s universal theme is about letting go and moving on - new adventures and beginnings,” he has reflected, speaking about LIFE’s latest track. “I wrote the lyrics whilst doing a long distance walk, turning what I saw into characters and scenes. I like to think it sounds like a pulpy Northern-based western - cryptic placards, farmers hanging dead moles on chicken wire, phallic mountains, pikes and ridges, Mother Earth always winning. The middle-8 feels like a salute to the new. In many ways, the track became the blueprint for the whole record.”
