Listen: Amen Dunes Previews New Album With ‘Lonely Richard’

NYC-based, Sacred Bones signing Damon McMahon is back with word of a new Amen Dunes album - his third - titled ‘Love’ and out 12th May.

Lead track ‘Lonely Richard’ features Elias Bender Ronnenfelt (from Iceage and Var) on vocals, although in the grand scheme of things it’s a far cry from provocative Nordic punk. Sitting somewhere between Andrew Bird (with his elbow leaning on a distortion pedal) and the material on ‘Through Donkey Jaw’, it’s a sleek, dusky mix of ugly and beautiful.

Members of Godspeed You! Black Emperor feature heavily on the new record. There’s also saxaphone contributions from Colin Stetson and other Montreal musicians.
