Listen: Bands Of Horses’ Ben Bridwell Unveils Solo Recordings

Ben Bridwell’s Band Of Horses band aren’t experiencing a lull by any means, but that hasn’t stopped the frontman from launching into a new solo venture.

Writing under the name Birdsmell (charming), his tracks are built on layers of lulling acoustics, his voice being a genuine focal point instead of something drowned out by sludgy, albeit impressive scuzz.

Three songs have been unveiled to date - alongside a string of US dates - titled ‘Throw My Mess Around’, ‘Why Were You Born?’ and ‘Tulsa’. The last one’s woozy waltz stands out amongst the three. Stream all of them below and scroll down for the intimate US dates.
