Listen: Lone Previews Debut Album With ‘Aurora Northern Quarter’

Prolific producer Mat Cutlers aka Lone is previewing material from his new album ‘Reality Testing’, which comes out 16th June via R&S Records.

Cutlers’ fifth album is a fusion of ‘Detroit techno and old Chicago house’, according to the man himself. ‘I wanted to make an album that had both hip hop and house beats, but that weren’t completely different from each other.’

Back in April, ‘2 & 8’ cemented these claims, fixing up a genre-meshing cut practically immune to being pigeonholed. ‘Aurora Northern Quarter’ follows this up in similar vein, wrapping futuristic, hyper-reality synths in shuffling beats above an overarching abstract backdrop.
