Listen: Mykki Blanco Unveils ‘Booty Bamboo’ Track
New York rapper’s also shared a who gives a fuck” message, asking “will hip hop ever accept me?”.”

New York rapper Mykki Blanco is evidently in a stage of transition. Releasing her ‘Booty Bamboo’ track out of the blue, she’s also shared a revealing statement about not being signed, having to face not being accepted, while fighting adversity and conquering any challenges.
‘Will hip hop ever accept me? Who gives a fuck. Will the gay community turn their back on me if I stop dressing in drag? Who gives a fuck,’ begins Mykki’s text.
‘Will I get signed? Who gives a fuck. I did a world tour off the strength of soundcloud singles, a lo-fi mixtape and my first EP. I was out there, I saw the power of music and saw the power of love and now I just want to develop my music and have fun. People who fuck with Mykki Blanco fuck with Mykki Blanco no image or politics needed.’
‘Booty Bamboo’ is a fierce reminder of Blanco’s huge potential. As per, it’s anything but customary hip-hop, with car alarm samples locking horns with Spanish tongued hooks.
