Listen: Spoon’s Britt Daniel Records Shelley Fabares ‘Love Letters’ Cover
Spoon frontman looks to a ’60s number for inspiration - listen now.

Britt Daniel of Spoon and Divine Fits fame is the latest in a line of musicians to record a cover for Rookie’s Theme Song feature. Taking on ‘Love Letters’ from Shelley Faberes’s 1962 album Shelley!, Britt reveals it’s a song (the Ketty Lester version) he’d play on the PA before Divine Fits came on stage when they were touring.
There’s a new Spoon album expected for 2014. The band have recently been posting studio shots on Instagram alongside presumed song titles. The follow-up to ‘Transference’ can’t be far away.
