Listen: Turtle Previews Debut EP With ‘Who Knows’

Glasgow producer Jon Cooper aka Turtle is one for the starry-eyed nightcrawlers, the kind who’d wander off into city streets instead of sticking to a daily routine.

New song ‘Who Knows’ - which previews Cooper’s debut EP, out in November - is a conventional piece of songwriting at heart, but it’s steered in such a way that it’s sent down a futuristic, icy cold course. Consider another Jon - Hopkins - as a quick contemporary. Beginning sluggish and defined by sedated, gently-dripping vocals, it eventually builds into a grand, all-reaching giant.

As a debut, it’s up there with SOHN in pointing conventionally ‘electronic’ production into a more tangible, daring direction.
