Fresh from a rather brilliant edition of Sound City earlier this year, the festival has confirm its return for 2019.

Next year’s event will take place on May’s first Bank Holiday Weekend, from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th May next year, back at Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

This year’s round of the fest played host to the likes of Peace, Black Honey, IDLES, King Nun and loads more - revisit our review of the weekend here.

Speaking of the news, COO Becky Ayres has said: “We had a magical return back to our roots and could not have asked for a better Sound City this year, which was a sell out before we even started. The weather was the final glorious touch for what was a real showcase of what this great city is all about, with the festival embracing its musical heritage and bringing it very much into the now. We are very thankful for the ongoing support from Arts Council England and everyone who helps make Sound City the success it is. We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone, and we are already planning for 2019.”

Not only are the festival forward-planning for next year’s activities, but they’re also now offering young artists the chance to apply to play at MU:CON and Zadari festivals, over in South Korea, this October.

If you fancy applying, simply head here. Applications close at 6pm on Friday 27th July.
