Lorde shares massive album update on her 20th birthday

Today sees Lorde leave her teenage years behind - she’s 20 today. Happy birthday! To celebrate, she’s taken to the ‘net to share a big ol’ update on her second album.

Set for release in 2017, Lorde’s new album comes after what sounds like quite the tumultuous year, with the singer withdrawing from public life almost entirely and moving out to New York City. Nevertheless, the future sounds awfully exciting - “Writing ‘Pure Heroine’ was my way of enshrining our teenage glory,” she explains, “putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next.”
