Lorde, the curator
Lorde to decide on soundtrack for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1’
New Zealander will also contribute the lead single for the soundtrack.
Lorde has been given the enviable task of curating the soundtrack for ‘The Hunger Games: MockingJay - Part 1’, it has been confirmed.
The New Zealander will also contribute the first single for the film, which is due out in cinemas worldwide on 21st November, with the soundtrack falling around the same time.
“Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde said in a statement. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people.”
On previous Hunger Games films, the first single honour has fallen to Taylor Swift and Civil Wars (‘Safe & Sound’, on the first ‘Hunger Games’) and Coldplay’s ‘Atlas’ (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’).
