Madonna unveils details of super sequel ‘Confessions II’
Her new album will act as a counterpart to her iconic 2005 LP ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’.

Madonna is well and truly back, having just announced that she’ll be releasing her hugely-anticipated next album ‘Confessions II’ - the spiritual sequel to her 2005 seminal record ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’ - on 3rd July via Warner Records.
Created alongside producer Stuart Price, it comes in the wake of last year’s ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’ 20th anniversary edition (which featured new remixes), as well as her last studio album proper, ‘Madame X’ (2019).
Just when we thought the dancefloor couldn’t get any more love this year (Harry Styles, Arlo Parks - we’re looking at you), the queen of pop has stepped back into the spotlight; giving us an appetite-whetting preview of what to expect from the new LP’s incoming lead single, she has quoted: “People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language.”
Explaining more about the manifesto of ‘Confessions II’, Madonna asserts that “we must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years - they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect - with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.”
We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves. Watch the intriguing album teaser trailer and check out ‘Confessions II”s instantly-iconic cover art below.
