Sam Smith and Madonna release collaborative single ‘Vulgar’
It is the first song the two artists have recorded together.
Sam Smith and Madonna have unveiled the results of their first ever collaboration – listen to ‘Vulgar’ below.
The two entered a studio together the day after the Grammy Awards in February this year. At that event, Madonna had introduced Smith’s performance by saying, “Are you ready for some controversy? If they call you shocking, scandalous, troublesome, problematic, provocative or dangerous, you are definitely onto something. That’s where you make noise.”
‘Vulgar’ was produced by ILYA for MXM Productions, Cirkut, Ryan Tedder, Omer Fedi, Jimmy Napes and Lauren D’elia.
Smith’s fourth album ‘Gloria’ was released in January 2023 via Capitol, and they are currently in the middle of the Gloria World Tour.
Madonna’s Celebration Tour, her first ever greatest hits concert tour, kicks off in July and is set to run until January 2024.
Sam Smith plays Mad Cool (6th - 8th July), where DIY is a media partner. Head to the festival’s website for more info, and to buy tickets.
