Magdalena Bay make celestial return with new double single ‘Second Sleep’ / ‘Star Eyes’
It’s their first new music since last year’s cult favourite album, ‘Imaginal Disk’.

LA via Miami duo Magdalena Bay are back with two new songs, the “spiritual successors” to their 2024 breakthrough LP ‘Imaginal Disk’.
The first track, ‘Second Sleep’, is a genre-defying number replete with orchestral flourishes and Mica Tenenbaum’s distinctive vocals (think somewhere between Tame Impala and latter day Arctic Monkeys), while the double single B-side, ‘Star Eyes’, lands like a woozy, meditative soundtrack to a Disney dream sequence.
“‘Second Sleep’ and ‘Star Eyes’ are two songs we made around the end of ‘Imaginal Disk’ – both a sort of spiritual successor to the album’s mood and emotional arc,” the band have said of their latest offerings. “We like how they complement each other, so here they are as a pair.”
As well as new music, Magdalena Bay are also on the verge of releasing an album movie in celebration of ‘Imaginal Disk”s first birthday, which will elaborate on elements featured in the videos for ‘Death & Romance’, ‘Image’, and ‘That’s My Floor’, as well as their immersive live show.
Stay tuned for more details on that - and in the meantime, check out ‘Second Sleep’ and ‘Star Eyes’ below.
Plus, the band have also lined up a big run of tour dates across North America (September and October) and the UK/Europe (next February). Find out full details of where you can catch them live here:
