Pioneers of the modern UK DIY scene Male Bonding have seemingly come back from the dead with a surprise new single, ‘A Kick to The Face’.
Things have been extremely quiet in the trio’s camp ever since the release of 2011’s thoroughly underrated ‘Endless Now’ and last year’s one-off single ‘The Itch’, but momentum finally seems to be gathering pace again.
‘A Kick to The Face’ is a dizzying return that sees the band return to the rumbling, ricocheting roots first established on their 2010 debut Nothing Hurts, assaulting the senses with off-kilter riffs, pummelling percussion and their signature mumblecore vocal.
Rumours of a long-awaited third album have been scarce of late, but things are finally starting to look up as the band will be playing a hopefully not one-off show closing out Islington’s Buffalo Bar with Shopping on 21st December.
Listen to ‘A Kick to The Face’ below.
