Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ has five newly-credited songwriters

Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ smash hit now has a total of eleven credited songwriters.

Five more have been added to the legal documents, after ‘70s group The Gap Band put forward a claim, due to the similarities between Ronson’s track and their own ‘Oops Upside Your Head’.

The claim was filed back in February, and the ‘Oops’ writers now own 17 percent of the publishing rights to ‘Uptown Funk’. Documents released by RCA have filed the band alongside Ronson, co-producer Jeffrey Bhasker and Phillip Lawrence, Nicholas Williams, Devon Gallaspy and Bruno Mars.

Listen to ‘Uptown Funk’ below. Mark Ronson is set to play Parklife (6th-7th June), Glastonbury (24th-28th June), Lovebox (17th-18th July) and Festival Number 6 (3rd-6th September) this summer.
