Marmozets make a storming return at Reading 2017

With comeback single ‘Play’ out in the world, the Yorkshire five-piece tear up the Radio 1 tent this afternoon.

There’s a few ways to make your return as a band for album two. Marmozets prove today that playing one of the biggest shows of your career is probably the best.

Coming to Reading this afternoon at the end of an intimate UK tour previewing their upcoming second LP, the Bingley five-piece are on vicious form. New single ‘Play’ is an instantly infectious hit, and gets one of the biggest reactions of the set.

From the moment Becca Macintyre and co. stride out onto the Radio 1/NME stage, the crowd are in the palm of their hand, with circle pits as far as the eye can see.

The band’s debut album ‘The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets’ remains a spiky, brilliant beast, and its highlights are rolled out with precision this afternoon - their year-or-more away clearly hasn’t made them any less sharp, and coming at the end of the tiny UK tour, the set shows that the band are more than ready for the big leagues, and they step up to the cavernous tent with ease.

With album two on the way, and back at the festival where they cut their teeth, Marmozets are fierier than ever, and 2018 looks set to solidify their place as one of the best rock bands in the country.
