Meat Wave break the narrative in the video for ‘Bad Man’
It’s based on films such as ‘Kill The Moonlight’ and the work of Harmony Korine.
Today Chicago punk rockers Meat Wave are kicking off their
latest UK tour in Brighton, but before they set off around British shores, they’ve
shared another video for their latest single.
The clip for ‘Bad Man’ – the latest track to be taken from
their recent album ‘The Incessant’ – has been heavily inspired by movies such
as ‘Kill The Moonlight’ and Harmony Korine’s ‘Gummo.’ Not sure what that means?
Well, it means it’s really bloody weird. Really weird. Weirdness off the scale.
Instead of trying to tell any kind of narrative (or even
hint at one) the band just wanted to make something that completely went
against any suggestions made by the music. So, without any rhyme of reason, our
lot have cheese hats on their head, run around quite a bit (it’s not known what
they’re running from, if anything) and perform ridiculous moves. There’s even a
short section towards the beginning where the camera stays static in the field
watching as our protagonist does… absolutely nothing. Did we mention it’s
weird?

Wave’s upcoming European tour dates below.
