Mercury Music Prize Shortlist To Be Unveiled
The 12 bands nominated for the annual award will be unveiled on 19th July.

This year’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize shortlist is set to be revealed later this month.
The 12 bands nominated for the annual award will be unveiled on 19th July at London’s Hospital Club by Lauren Laverne. Commenting on the award, Laverne said: “There’s been so much great music released this year. I’m sure the judges will have an even more challenging job than usual choosing the final shortlist of 12 Albums of the Year. It’s certainly looks like it should be a really strong line-up.”
Current odds suggest PJ Harvey, Adele, James Blake and Wild Beasts are likely to make the list. Last year’s award was won by The xx.
The ceremony itself will take place on 6th September.
