Mumford & Sons confirmed as Rock Werchter 2026 headliners
They’ll join fellow bill-toppers The Cure, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, and The xx in Belgium next summer.
Rock Werchter has announced that folk-rock favourites Mumford & Sons will be taking to its main stage next summer, for a headline performance on the Festivalpark Main Stage on Thursday 2nd July.
It’s set to be the band’s fifth time playing the Belgian fest, and will act as a celebration of their upcoming new album ‘Prizefighter’ (landing 13th February 2026). Mumford & Sons are the latest act to be confirmed for a 2026 lineup that already features an array of huge international names, including The Cure, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, and recent additions The xx.
The adored indie-electronic trio - whose cult favourite debut album, ‘xx’, earned them the Mercury Prize back in 2010 - have recently revealed that they’ve been back in the studio, working on new material together after a long period apart.
Since their third album, ‘I See You’, arrived in 2017, Jamie xx, Romy, and Oliver Sim have all been busy pursuing their own solo projects, but have always left the door open for The xx to reunite. So, it’s safe to assume that the band’s first performance at Rock Werchter since 2012 is set to be a special one - and who knows, maybe attendees will even get to hear some of this much-anticipated new music…
Rock Werchter 2026 will take place from Thursday 2nd July to Sunday 5th July in Werchter, Belgium. Tickets will go on general sale in just a few days, at 10am on Friday 21st November; find out more and get yours here.
