Miles Kane announces new record ‘Sunlight In The Shadows’ and shares single ‘Love Is Cruel’

Miles Kane is back! The indie-rocker has announced that he will be releasing his sixth record on 17th October via Easy Eye Sound. He shares the news alongside new single, ‘Love Is Cruel’, which is out now.

The new record is produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, giving a slick, vintage rock’n’roll sound. “Dan and I love mixing T. Rex, Motown and The Easybeats, and the result is this record,” Kane has said. “When we were chatting and sharing references, we were so similar in taste it was frightening and you can hear that shared passion through the music,” he continues.

“All roads, over 20 years, have led here,” he says. “I can’t wait to take it out on the road. It’s an album that needs to be played live.”

The pair worked alongside a whole host of musicians on the record, including McLaughlin, Daniel Tashian and The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney. Tom Bukovac, Cage The Elephant’s Nick Bockrath, and Little Barrie’s Barrie Cadogan all played guitar on it, while Dan himself sings backing vocals across the tracks.

“This record was incredible to make, from start to finish,” says producer Dan. “I felt like I gained a life-long friend in Miles. And that doesn’t always happen. When it does, it’s amazing. This is an artist who could potentially make records forever.”
