Miya Folick shares ‘Thingamajig’ video

Miya Folick released debut album, ‘Premonitions’ at the end of last month - read our interview with her about it here - featuring single ‘Thingamajig’.

She’s now shared a video for the track, along with a new version, which was recorded live on set.

We wanted to make a version of “Thingamajig” that distilled it down to its core,” says Miya. “The melody, the lyrics, the interplay between the harmonics and the voice, the apology. I’ve been feeling lately that there’s been a flurry of apologies in the news but rarely is there a true apology. We wanted to make a version of this song that felt quiet and patient, that took the time to express the gravity of sorry. Dennis Hamm played piano on the album version of the song, but we had never rehearsed this live version. We just showed up on set and played together. I think that’s the beautiful thing about music. It’s just people in a room reacting to each other with their instruments.”
