MØ ends 2014 with new song, ‘New Year’s Eve’
Danish star’s enjoyed a breakthrough year following ‘No Mythologies To Follow’.
Karen Marie Ørsted is bidding farewell to a breakthrough year with a MØ track to close out 2014 - ‘New Year’s Eve’.
Dropped just before the day itself, the track’s being backed by one of the Danish star’s customary black-and-white archive footage plus webcam footage videos. A fair way different from this year’s debut album ‘No Mythologies To Follow’, it sees Ørsted using vocoder for the first time, while extracting huge hooks out of simple piano lines.
In an accompanying Facebook post, the singer states that the song is a “thanks to all of you who’ve been supporting me in 2014.”
It’s indeed been a big year for her. As well as the debut on Chess Club, she’s also played huge sets at Reading & Leeds, with a sold out show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire topping it off.
