Modest Mouse unveil ‘The Best Room’ track
Taken from ‘Strangers to Ourselves’, out this March.
Modest Mouse are streaming another skittering cut from their first album in eight years, ‘Strangers to Ourselves’.
‘The Best Room’ is the third song to be lifted from the new LP, linking up with ‘Coyotes’ (coupled with a dog-on-the-subway vid) and buzzing lead ‘Lampshades on Fire’. On this latest cut, Isaac Brock commands marching drums and a lifetime’s worth of guitar bravado, totally in sync with Modest Mouse’s signature style.
Alongside the new track, ‘Strangers to Ourselves’ has been pushed back to 16th March. In a statement, the band confirm that The Shins’ James Mercer sings backing vocals on a few tracks, with The Cold War Kids’ Dann Gallucci also making an appearance. Despite the rumours, Big Boi won’t be appearing.
In a recent DIY feature, Will Richards took a look at everything Modest Mouse have been up to in the years between full-lengths.
