The cover we share
Muse cover Chvrches’ ‘Lies’ in the Live Lounge
A biting critique of capitalism? A comment on Banksy’s Dismaland? One thing’s for sure, it’s absolutely bonkers.
Muse popped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge today, and gave Chvrches’ ‘Lies’ a fairly unique and glammy reworking. It’s got ‘Drones’ written all over it.
Amping the melodrama up to the maximum setting, Matt Bellamy yells “I can sell you lies” atop lurching, unsteady guitars. It’s all rather intense. Is this a biting critique of capitalism? A subtle social comment on Banksy’s Dismaland? A comment on society’s relationship with materialism?
One thing’s for sure, it’s absolutely fucking bonkers.
This morning Muse announced a surprise show tonight at Electric Ballroom, with tickets on the door only. They’re also off on a world arena tour next year.
Listen before, and hear Chvrches ‘Lies’ like never before.
