Mysteries preview debut album with ‘Newly Thrown’ track

LA trio go beyond the mystique with a taster of ‘New Age Music Is Here’.

Familiarities creep into the music of LA trio Mysteries who, true to the band name, are keeping things firmly under wraps, fancy masks and costumes in tow. Elements of new song ‘Newly Thrown’ link up with existing acts, which might explain the lack of identity behind this project (surely at least one season pro’s spearheading the thing), but there’s also a future-orientation that backs up their magnificent ‘Deckard’ debut, which premiered on DIY last month.

This latest track is more bass driven, with murky synth keys and the odd “ooh” coo filtering in. But it’s led by a vocal line that sounds unbelievably close to something sitting at the depths of a collective memory bank.

‘Newly Thrown’ is taken from the debut album ‘New Age Music Is Here’, out 27th October on Felte.
