New service started to offer unlimited gigs for a subscription fee

Jukely is being trialled in New York.

A new service is being trialled in its beta form Stateside. Jukely, currently only available in the New York area, offers subscribers access to a range of concerts for $25 a month. Users simply apply to be guest listed for gigs involved with the scheme that have tickets available.

This open door approach means that you’re unlikely to be waltzing into a Foo Fighters’ gig on your subscription. According to co-founder Bora Celik: “The idea is to fill the room and expose folks to bands that are just starting to blow up, but have enough of a presence to sell a few of their own tickets, too.” So far this has seen concerts including DIIV, Zola Jesus, and Kidnap Kid available to Jukely members.

The service, based around an app, also has a social functionality that you can use to connect, and communicate, with people attending the same gigs.

An intriguing idea, it would undoubtedly be a boon for any dedicated gig goer wanting to see new and even more established artists. However, whether or not the nominal fee currently being charged will be enough to offset the inevitable upkeep remains to be seen.
