Nick Cave has shared the news that he is planning to write a new Bad Seeds album this year.
Replying to a question about his 2023 plans on his website The Red Hand Files, Nick said, “My plan for this year is to make a new record with the Bad Seeds. This is both good news and bad news. Good news because who doesn’t want a new Bad Seeds record? Bad news because I’ve got to write the bloody thing.”
“I started the process at 9am on January 1st. It is now January 6th– nearly a week has passed and I’ve written a few things but they aren’t very good, or maybe they are, it’s difficult to tell.”
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds released their last album ‘Ghosteen’ in 2019. In our review of the record, we said, “Tragedy is at the very heart of this masterful record, with Nick’s deeply personal lyrics providing a captivating and at times heart-wrenching focal point.”
