Busy at work
Nigel Godrich posts in-the-studio shot of Thom Yorke
Image could be from Radiohead’s new LP recording sessions.

The demand for a new Radiohead album is always so high that, if the faint whimpering sound of Thom Yorke’s voice appears to emerge from the other side of the street, everything shuts down. Just now, producer and engineer Nigel Godrich has posted an image of frontman Thom Yorke working in the studio.
It’s the second shot to emerge since Radiohead declared they’d be working on a new album this year. The last arrived back in 2014, where Yorke was pictured with Jonny Greenwood. Here, Thom’s backed by murky visuals not dissimilar to those on Radiohead’s ‘Polyfauna’ app, and he’s surrounded by samplers, keyboards and an iPad (probably checking his emails, to be fair).
He could be up to anything. Last year Yorke released the ‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes’ solo LP, and he’s confirmed an appearance at a climate change event in Paris for later this year. Radiohead said they’d be working solidly on a follow-up to ‘The King of Limbs’ from September, although sessions have been taking place in Oxford in-between members’ own solo commitments.
