Nikolai Fraiture’s new band Summer Moon share ‘Happenin’ (Blue Room Mix)’

It’s the first full song to come from The Strokes bassist’s new project.

With The Strokes building up to much anticipated live dates this summer, including headline sets at Primavera and British Summer Time, the band’s bassist Nikolai Fraiture is keeping himself busy as member of four-piece Summer Moon. It’s his first output outside of The Strokes since his solo project, Nickel Eye.

Summer Moon consists of Fraiture, Au Revior Simone’s Erika Spring, former Like drummer Tennessee Thomas, and English solo artist Lewis Lazar. ‘Happenin’ (Blue Room Mix)’, lurks in lurid, almost nostalgic post-punk territory. Industrial drops of synth overwhelm as Lazar broods anxiously over Fraiture’s melancholic bassline.

The four-piece have announced two live dates. Both shows take place in New York, with one in support of Father John Misty.

JUL

27th - New York, Baby’s All Right (US)

AUG (supporting Father John Misty)

05 - New York, Rumsey Playfield (US)
