Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds unveil b-side, ‘Do The Damage’
The reverse of ‘Chasing Yesterday”s lead single ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’ is worlds apart from its counterpart.
Last month, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds announced their second album ‘Chasing Yesterday’ with the accompanying lead single ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’. The b-side ‘Do The Damage’, however, is in a completely different world.
Where ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’ is very much straight down the line and pop-leaning, ‘Do The Damage’ is full of the gritty bite that accompanies Gallagher’s staples.
‘Do The Damage’ replaces the catchy hooks and simple structure of ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’ with punchy riffs and chugging bass lines, resulting in a shamelessly massive sound that’s largely out of character for Noel and co. of late.
The track won’t appear on ‘Chasing Yesterday’, but it’s a hint towards different directions for the band’s sophomore outing, out 2nd March 2015.
‘In The Heat Of The Moment’’s single comes out on the 17th of this month.
Noel Gallagher plays the following UK dates:
MARCH 2015
3 Belfast, Odyssey Arena
4 Dublin, 3 Arena
6 Nottingham, Capital FM Arena
7 Glasgow, The SSE Hydro
9 Manchester, Phones 4U Arena
10 London, O2 Arena
