Pat Dam Smyth reflects on his childhood in new song ‘Dancing’
A second album from the Northern Irish singer-songwriter is coming later this year.
Northern Irish singer-songwriter Pat Dam Smyth released his debut album eight years ago, and is returning with a second this year.
The new record is coming out later on in 2019, and we’re sharing its new song ‘Dancing’.
The song - like much of the album - is a snapshot of life as a teenager in Belfast, and a distillation of many of Pat’s teen experiences growing up in Northern Ireland. Set in his local nightclub: the dance kids in one room, the rockers upstairs; the song regales what happens when they meet in the corridor with the chemicals racing through their veins.

Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
