Perfect Pussy: "We're going to be inseparable"

This week welcomes in one of the most exciting joint-tours in recent months, with Perfect Pussy (above) and Joanna Gruesome hitting the road.

The Syracuse band - fronted by Meredith Graves - are making their first visit to the UK this week, with further appearances scheduled in for London’s Visions (2nd August) and Jabberwocky Festivals (15th-16th August).

Together, they’ll play Brighton, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow, with the shows kicking off on 29th July at the seaside’s Green Door Store.

Speaking to DIY ahead of the dates, Graves says she’s a “huge fan” of her tour buddies.

“The singer of Joanna Gruesome [Alanna McArdle] and I are like twins,” she says. “Well, we used to be anyway. We used to both have real short black hair and nose rings and tattoos on our arms and we were both wearing like very clean dresses and we saw each other and we were like ‘Oh my god this is weird’, so we didn’t talk to each other at all.

“I’m a huge fan of her band and since then we’ve become friends, so when we see each other next time it’s going to be a lot more fun because we won’t be scared to talk to each other!

“I think Alanna and I are going to be inseparable - I’m looking forward to it.”
