Philip Selway gives an update on Radiohead’s album recording, calling September a “full schedule”
Drummer expands on Jonny Greenwood’s recent statement that the band is “working in periods”
Philip Selway has given an update on the current status of Radiohead’s forthcoming album.
Speaking to Ghostpoet in the first of a two-part podcast for The Talkhouse, Selway says that the album recordings have been coming “in fits and starts, but come September it just becomes quite a full schedule.” Selway’s latest update follows Jonny Greenwood’s comments earlier this month when the guitarist revealed the band are “working in periods.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Selway told Ghostpoet that the group’s creative process has changed from before because of what he believes to be part of the band’s “short attention span.” Selway says:
“For so long we kind of played exclusively with each other and that takes you so far, so I suppose from album to album you try to push yourself beyond your comfort zone…we kind of change record to record, try and change the underlying approach to making music.”
