Premiere: Watch: Drowners Unveil ‘Luv, Hold Me Down’ Lyric Video

Also: The NYC dreamboats are heading off on a UK headline tour, followed by Peace support dates.

New York group Drowners specialise in ramshackle rock ‘n roll tailor made for shameless singalongs - a lyric video was the sensible next step.

Their instant fix of a sound picked up comparisons to The Libertines on DIY and pretty much everywhere else, but with a song like ‘Luv, Hold Me Down’, they sound more akin to The Wave Pictures minus the strawberry jam crumpets, instead raised on a diet of cheap beer. Leather jackets rinse the scene of this new clip, which we’re delighted to be premiering, mainly because it’s Friday and what else is there to do apart from bellow out the words to a Drowners song in a shared office?

The Matthew Hitt-fronted group also tour the UK from May, linking up with giants Peace for their run of dates this spring. Check those out in full below the player. Drowners’ self-titled debut album is out now.
