Premiere: Watch: NUDES Unveil ‘THE HEAT’ Video
NUDES make excitable dance music which latches onto human emotions - watch their video first on DIY.
For all their evident house and contemporary influences etc. etc., NUDES treat dance differently to your average bunch. Consider Cut Copy’s approach and distill the thing, make it a tamer, lovelier beast.
It’s there to see in ‘THE HEAT’ (although what’s visible is shrouded in lots of luscious red shades and whatnot). It was also right-before-our-bloody-eyes when they played one of Neu’s four ‘HOW JUNE IS NOW’ showcases last June, making clever use out of samplers and processors - not looking at them too much, basically - and acting like actual musicians with bloody good singing voices instead.
This London group are very much a band, with gadgets and wires pouring out the seams. ‘THE HEAT’ is easily their best song to date, like the funk-missioned glow of Roosevelt, coupled with fellow London newcomers Real Lies.
NUDES’ ‘THE HEAT’ is premiering on DIY. They’re also giving away new song ‘90’s DEPP’ on Facebook later today.
