Premiere: Watch: Youth Man Unveil ‘Wide Awake’ Video

Back in January the Birmingham punk trio played a Neu Presents, ‘Hello 2014’ show to see the year in. Bleary eyed, post-Xmas hangovers were swept to one side. Talk about a rude awakening.

‘It’s like a topless drunk parading round city streets with a chainsaw. Menacing to the bone, there’s nothing capable of putting this to an early halt,’ reads a report from the show.

Youth Man are designed to shake up the sense. Despite that, their video for ‘Wide Awake’ - premiering on DIY - shows a conscious man taking a tour round Britain’s motorways and newsagents. He ends up in all kinds of places, even going on a romantic continental trip. Martin Sek directs.
