Prima Queen offer up latest album preview 'Oats'

Transatlantic duo Prima Queen - aka Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden - have returned with another preview of their forthcoming debut album, ‘The Prize’.

The band - who have already shared a handful of tracks from their forthcoming full-length, including other four-letter tracks ‘Fool’ and ‘Ugly’ - have now offered up the flirty delight that is ‘Oats’. “After refusing to write another sad song, we wanted to make a fun take on the chaos of modern dating,” the band have said, of their latest track. “‘Oats’ is the all-too-common story of the rise and fall of a romance. It’s easy to take it personally when you get messed around in love, but most of the time it has nothing to do with you. Usually it comes from people’s unresolved issues from their past, and it’s important to stay strong in your own self worth and not be afraid to walk away! No one should be begging for love, you should be being lavished with it.”

The track lands ahead of ‘The Prize’’s release on 25th April through their new label home of Submarine Cat Records. Produced by Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Picture Parlour, Nell Mescal), the twelve-track effort will follow their 2023 ‘Not The Baby’ EP, and is set to be - in their own words - a record that “screams empowerment and strength”.

As well as the release of their debut, the band will also be heading out on the road shortly, with a tour of the UK and Europe scheduled for May. Check out the sassy video for ‘Oats’, and their upcoming live schedule, below.
