Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme releases a cover of ‘Silent Night’
He also reads ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ with Brody Dalle and their children.
We’ve had a few bands get into the Christmas spirit recently with Shame, Phoebe Bridgers, Pale Waves, Confidence Man and more all offering up their own festive tunes. Now Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme has joined in the fun.
The band’s frontman has today released a Christmas-themed seven inch, with all proceeds from the single going to Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation, which provide assistances to people in the music industry and their families struggling with illness and disability, as well as Support Act, an Australian organisation offering similar assistance.
Recorded during QOTSA’s 2017 Australian tour, the surprise release includes Homme’s performance of ‘Silent Night’ with help from Australian singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking, as well as a reading of ‘‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ featuring his wife Brody Dalle of The Distillers, and their children.
Listen to both recordings below. You can buy them on the band’s website.
