Radiohead Hachiko Square Event Cancelled, ‘Something Special’ Due Today

Radiohead’s mysterious tweet seems to have been explained, with the band set to premiere ‘something special’ at 18:59 JST.

Tthe original event, planned to take place in Hachiko Square, Shibuya has been cancelled due to safety concerns (Time Out Japan). Hostess, the band’s Japanese label instead claim the band have ‘something special’ planned for the same time - possibly to be broadcast via their Japanese website thekingoflimbs.jp.

Other rumours suggest some sort of YouTube broadcast of a six minute video at some point around 2pm GMT.

Rumours of a live show escalated yesterday following a mysterious tweet which mentioned Hachiko Square; the site of a world famous ‘pedestrian scramble’ in Japan, where all traffic is frequently stopped so pedestrians can cross in every direction. According to Google Sightseeing, it’s also a popular film destination, with notable appearances including ‘Lost In Translation’.

Radiohead are set to release ‘The King Of Limbs’ on Saturday (February 19th).
