Radiohead: No Secret Tokyo Show, Speculation At Mysterious Tweet Continues

A Radiohead spokesperson has moved to dispel rumours about a possible live performance in Tokyo to support the release of new album ‘The King Of Limbs’.

The rumours started following a tweet this morning (February 17th). That read:

Translated, the message seems to suggest something will happen in Hachiko Square in Shibuya at 18:59 JST tomorrow.

Hachiko Square is the site of a world famous ‘pedestrian scramble’ in Japan, where all traffic is frequently stopped so pedestrians can cross in every direction. According to Google Sightseeing, it’s also a popular film destination, with notable appearances including ‘Lost In Translation’.

A spokesperson confirmed to NME that the band will not be playing live. ‘The band will not be in Japan tomorrow so people should not go to Shibuya expecting to see the band in person,’ they confirmed.

As Hachiko Square features huge screens, speculation now centers on some kind of broadcast from the band.

Radiohead are set to release ‘The King Of Limbs’ on Saturday (February 19th). You can check out our hunt for the titular King of Limbs tree here
