Radiohead’s Philip Selway to host Finest Hour show on BBC 6 Music
Drummer fills in for Elbow’s Guy Garvey this Sunday.
Radiohead drummer Philip Selway is set to host a Finest Hour show on BBC 6 Music this weekend.
Selway’s filling in for Elbow’s Guy Garvey for a selection of his favourite songs, following the release of his solo album, ‘Weatherhouse’.
Earlier this week, Selway gave a quick update on new Radiohead album progress. Speaking to Drowned in Sound, he said: “It’s all coming along nicely… We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas, and now we’re just taking some time away for other projects… We’ll get back to it in March and we’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we’ve been excited about what we’ve been doing so far. It’s by no means finished yet, so we’ve got a way to go. It’s been a productive time though.”
BBC 6 Music this week became digital radio’s most popular station, reaching figures of 2 million weekly listeners.
Details of Selway’s 6 Music show can be found here - it airs at 2pm GMT on Sunday 8th February.
