Robin Pecknold Offers Update On Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes frontman is studying in New York, with no release plans on the horizon.

Fleet Foxes

frontman Robin Pecknold has offered an update on the band, following a three year stint of not-an-awful-lot post-the release of 2011 album ‘Helplessness Blues’. Back in 2012, drummer Joshua Tillman left the group - there hasn’t been much action in or out of the studio ever since.

Turns out Robin’s off studying New York. Music is being written, but there are no concrete plans to release anything in the near future.

‘I decided to go back to school,’ he explained to fans on Facebook.

‘I never got an undergraduate degree, and this felt like the right time to both see what that was about and to try something new after a while in the touring / recording lifestyle. I moved to New York and enrolled at Columbia, and I’ve mostly been doing that, but I’m working on songs and excited for whatever happens next musically, even if it’s down the line. Hope all is well out there.’
