Rolo Tomassi return with 'Rituals'

Rolo Tomassi are back with ‘Rituals’ - their first new material since 2015’s ‘Grievances’.

The new track appears to be the first musical glimpse of something far bigger; perhaps an album, if we were to hazard a wild guess. “Having spent the last 18 months working on new music we are delighted to share the first single ‘Rituals’ with you,” say the band in a press release. “More will follow. See you at a show soon.”

Rolo also opened up in a new interview with Noisey, adding more clout to that ‘new album on the way’ theory. “‘Grievances’ was, from the start, conceived to be an album that flowed perfectly from start to finish and written with that in mind,” James Spence told Emma Garland. “This time around we focused specifically on exploring songs like ‘Rituals’ to their full potential. To write mini-epics. An album’s worth of ideas in one song. We pushed every song to its extreme and in the case of ‘Rituals’ that meant making it as heavy and unrelenting as we possibly could.”

The band headline London’s Borderline on 4th November, before heading off to tour the US for the first time. They’ll be supporting The Number 12 Looks Like You Stateside.
