S. T. Manville shares new video for ‘Little Victories’

The clip sees the singer songwriter reaching out to discover the small positives that infiltrate other people’s lives.

Every week, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from S. T. Manville.

S. T. Manville - the Midlands-based singer songwriter - has shared his new video for ‘Little Victories’, which is DIY’s Neu Pick for today.

The track - a delicate, warm ode to remembering to take stock of the little positives hidden in every day life - follows on from his debut release ‘Somebody Else’s Songs’, a collection of covers, which landed earlier this year.

Speaking of the track itself, he told us: “I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to try and find the small positives in life as often as I can, in as many places as I can. When I wrote the song I was just coming out the back of a really difficult period in my life, my wife had been ill and was in a hospital 150 miles away so I was juggling supporting her and looking after our 2 kids on my own. I realised I had been finding these little victories a lot, probably as a coping mechanism. Sometimes things are easier when there’s a crisis as all you have to figure out is how to deal with what’s directly in front of you. When life is normal it’s easy to be consumed with negatives and slip back into the habit of being constantly stressed out, this song was to remind me to stop once in a while and look at the world with a little more positivity.”

Inspired by his “old friend Luke” the video clip sees a collection of people from all walks of life sharing their own little victories. Watch it below.
