Sam Fender pays tribute to late grandparents with moving video for ‘Remember My Name’
The visual stars Dave Johns, a fellow Geordie and star of I, Daniel Blake.

Sam Fender has shared a fourth and final preview of his highly-anticipated third album ‘People Watching’ (due out on 21st February) in the form of a deeply personal new single, ‘Remember My Name’.
A moving, loving homage to Sam’s late grandparents, the track and its visualiser explore the extraordinary beauty of lifelong love and the extraordinary loss of its inevitable end, interpreted to stunning effect by actors Dave Johns - a fellow Geordie, known for his role in I, Daniel Blake - and Philippa Briggs.
Speaking about his latest release, Sam has said: “‘Remember My Name’ is a love song dedicated to my late Grandparents - they were always so fiercely proud of our family so I wrote the song in honour of them, from the perspective of my Grandad who was looking after my Grandma when she was suffering from dementia. The video is a really special one for me, I’d like to thank everyone involved.”

What’s more, Sam has also recently confirmed three more huge outdoor shows in the UK this Summer, adding dates in Manchester, Edinburgh, and Belfast to his previously-announced stadium run in Newcastle and London.
