SASAMI announces new album ‘Blood On The Silver Screen’

SASAMI has shared the news that her forthcoming third album, ‘Blood On The Silver Screen’, will arrive on 7th March 2025 via Domino. 

It follows her 2019 self-titled debut and 2022’s ‘Squeeze’, and will see the musical polymath fully embrace her pop sensibilities. “This album is all about learning and respecting the craft of pop songwriting, about relenting to illogical passion, obsession, and guiltless pleasure,” she has shared. “It’s about leaning into the chaos of romance and sweeping devotion—romanticism to the point of self-destruction.”

Influenced by the likes of Britney, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Sia, ‘Blood On The Silver Screen’ promises to hark back to classic pop cultural touchstones while still being imbued with SASAMI’s signature boldness - take its just-released lead single ‘Slugger’, which sees her reference Dolly Parton, Chopin, and Steve Lacy. 

“I wanted to be more playful and communicate more with pop culture,” she has explained. “When I listen to music, I think about how I feel, how I want to feel, how I want to move to it. And that’s what’s special about music—how it connects to culture, how it connects to different styles of music, how it connects to the timbre of the voice of the person singing it.”
