September is packed full of music events in Malta
Now’s the perfect time to hop on a plane for a dose of sun and sounds.
Though we might all have spent the last 18 months trying to convince ourselves that staycations in a caravan down the road are definitely, probably as good as a sun-drenched getaway, we all know in our heart of hearts that nothing beats the escapist thrill of hopping on a plane and landing somewhere vibrant and new.
And as the Number One vaccinated tourist destination in the EU, with more than 18 airlines flying direct to the island, you’d be hard-pressed to find somewhere more beautiful and exciting - but also convenient and safe - than the idyllic surrounds of Malta.
What’s more, music fans will be spoilt for choice with an array of sonically satisfying events taking place throughout September, to make sure your ears are as stimulated as your eyes on holiday.
On 17th September, Malta Rocks will be showcasing some of the island’s finest local talent at The Granaries, Floriana for those looking to expand their musical horizons. Featuring soulful vocalist Destiny, modern folk group Kantera, pop-rock singer Kersten Graham and more, tickets are on sale now and available from VisitMalta.com.
On the 24th, the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra will head to the island to present a sold out performance of It’s A Kind of Magic - The Queen Story, hosted by none other than ’80s icon Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet, while on 28th September, legendary DJ Pete Tong will be bringing his Pete Tong Classics set to The Granaries - enlisting the skills of The Heritage Orchestra to showcase a unique classical-electronic fusion that promises to push the boundaries whilst getting you on your feet.
Malta’s COVID Policy
The events in Malta taking place this September have all been carefully arranged to limit the spread of COVID-19. Each event will limit groups of people to six. In addition, bubble systems have been introduced limiting the number of people that can freely mix. The 18 airlines that fly into the archipelago will require proof of vaccination before you can board your flight.
