Gold mine
sir Was’ debut album ‘Digging A Tunnel’ is out in March
He also goes down to the woods in a new video for ‘In The Midst’.
Gothenburg-based multi-instrumentalist Joel Wästberg, better known as sir Was, has announced that his debut album ‘Digging A Tunnel’ will be out on 10th March via City Slang.
Promising to buck trends and inspired by just about everyone from My Bloody Valentine and D’Angelo to Liturgy and Sly And The Family Stone, ‘Digging A Tunnel’ is set to be a spirited voyage that draws on Wästberg’s own travels across the globe. Apparently he’s also played every instrument on the album “except the bagpipe and the harmonica.” Musicians these days, eh? Can’t be bothered to play their own bagpipes…
Wästberg has also shared the visuals to his laid-back new single ‘In The Midst,’ which is also set to be the opening track on ‘Digging A Tunnel’. In it, he goes down to the woods to have a rave. Dressed as a king. As you do.
Wästberg himself said: “I like to get cosy. When being home, just relaxing, I tend to wear really comfortable clothes. It just does you good. It makes you relax and forget about yourself. I rarely use these clothes outside the apartment. But this time I made an exception… I wore my clothes in front of the camera.” Now where can we get some robes to lounge around the house in?
