Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson stabbed in the head

Earlier this week, Slipknot’s guitarist Mick Thomson was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the head, after an alleged knife fight with his younger brother.

The 41 year old guitarist and his sibling Andrew were reportedly driven to their local hospital in separate ambulances after sustaining injuries in the altercation, which took place in the garden of the guitarist’s residence in Clive, Iowa.

According to BBC Newsbeat, police were called to the guitarist’s house early on Wednesday (11th March) morning after reports of the fight and found that the pair were both intoxicated, but neither of their injuries were life-threatening.

Patrol officer Danny Anderson then went on to confirm to the site that both men have now been released, neither was arrested and the police investigation will continue.

Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor recently took to Twitter to assure fans that Thomson is doing okay. “Mick Update: from what I’ve heard he’s okay,” he tweeted. “We’re sendig [sic] him your thoughts. Thank you for that.”

Slipknot are set to headline this year’s Download Festival, which takes place from 12th to 14th June at Donington Park.
