Songhoy Blues announce deluxe version of ‘Music In Exile’, huge Roundhouse show
A cover of The Clash will appear on the expanded version of their debut.
Songhoy Blues have seemingly saved all their news for one day, with a whole host of new announcements.
The Mali outfit have announced a deluxe version of their debut album ‘Music In Exile’, which is set to feature three covers. The first of these new takes is available to stream now, an alternate version of The Clash’s classic ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go?’ re-imagined to provide a commentary on the current ongoing refugee crisis.
In addition to the new tracks, which are also set to come out on a separate 12” titled ‘Re-Covered’ on the same day as the re-issue of ‘Music In Exile’ (6th November), the band have announced their biggest headline show to date for May 2016, playing London’s Roundhouse. The night, ‘Songhoy Blues present: ‘Music In Exile’ - a celebration of music from Mali and beyond’ is set to host a wealth of special guests.
Before the big Roundhouse show, the band are set to return to the UK next month for a run of shows including a date at the capital’s KOKO.
